MBT

Massai Barefoot Technology

For the last few years a new product has taken over the footwear market, it is known around the world as the “anti shoe”. The design comes from a concept of an unstable shoe, where opposite to a traditional shoe you have lack of stability and support. This can be done due to its curve sole which is design to recreate an uneven surface when walking with them.

When you are wearing a pair of MBTs you use your body as your own tool of support, this means that as you don’t have any stability at all and therefore you are working out muscles that you don’t usually use when wearing your regular shoes.

As a result of this, your muscle activity increases in every part of your body. Although it may seem as an exercise shoe, it has some other benefits for your body such as reducing back and neck pain and strengthening your joints.

As you wear them you will find that actually you are standing on a pivot point, reducing any contact on your heels and toes. The lack of support forces your body to push your shoulders back and stand straighter keeping you on balance and reducing any stress on your heels and toes as well as improving your posture as your spine is align with your pelvis.

The Massai barefoot technology makes part of a new design concept known as physiological footwear. Sometimes people don’t realize that a pain or problem they may have in their body can be a result of a bad pair of shoes and therefore it can be conclude that when buying shoes people should think about comfort, health and benefits, as sometimes having the wrong pair of shoes could be describe as building houses on sand.
